First time in almost 15 years.

So those CDs purchased direct from US shops/labels/artists by UK buyers have just got even cheaper! Wahey!

I thought it was always roughly £1:$2.

Not far from it, but this is the first time it's actually crossed the $2 mark since September 1992.

(Economics was one of my A-levels, and I still find this sort of thing vaguely interesting)

i remember when £1 was over 2 deutch marks. what a time i had in the record shops of east germany.

If you think, that's teh actual conversion ratio, then no wonder, why you keep refusing the EURO.

Fishmonkey has the Euro, but he's Irish, and they're more intelligent than the British, so Euros must be better.

I remember the dark days when the Dollar was stronger...about $1.7 to the pound or even dipping into the $1.6 teritory possibly.

i am already compiling lists. more so than i already do and thats a lot.

I don't usually do lists but, incidentally, I have been this morning. There's a seller on ebay that has a lot of reissue LPs of varying genres and I want to get a bunch. Depending on how much shipping is I might get 5 or 6.

Sadly, I quite like looking at exchange rates. "Oooh, 204 yen to the pound" is a phrase not unlikely to be uttered from my lips.

i do a lot of lists at work i have found. usually they are for uselss things and they get put in the bin. when i am at home i do write down general ones of things i want/need and now the £££ is strong i will take advantage and actually use it.

But I had nothing to do with the other 93.33%.

I like to have a rough idea of $ to £ and Euro to £ exchange rates, simply because it saves me having to refer to an exchange rate calculator every times I'm about to buy something from the US or Europe.
