Bethnal Green, London: Once traditional working class 'stronghold' now a hyper-expensive refuge for elderly 'salt of the earth' types and their chav kids, immigrants, and members of various NME-friendly bands.

The Interzone: a metaphorical stateless city not to be confused w/ the very real "International Zone" in Tangier, a city occupied after World War II by the French, English, Spanish, and Americans each with their own courts and administration, and an international refuge for criminals, artists, drug smugglers, and tax-evading tycoons.

I live in a town called Bald Knob, Arkansas, and this is the hottest place in town, Kelley's Grill:

Stepney Green, London: Home to a few more chavs from Bethnal Green, immigrants and loads of broken tvs and washing machines on the street and not much else worth mentioning.

Clapham - I live bang round the corner of a fairly large housing estate, so you can imagine the amount of pikeys that inhabit my 'hood. Oh fucking joy. Am also not too far from Stockwell. People sell drugs (literally) outside my front door, but they leave me alone. Apart from that, it's becoming increasingly gentrified and expensive. Some very good pubs and restaurants, though, and a nice park a stone's throw away.

My mini-city is the capital of porn. In the east, crime is so rampant, that I don't bother to go. In the west; that's where I live and the police come at least twice a day. Ah I feel safe.

Out of it is hellish. Litter and sofas dumped everywhere, fat malformed women in fleeces groping you, chav five-year-olds having drive-by shootings, obese emos, racist policemen, twelve-year-olds giving birth on the street and trying to control their offspring Chesney, Chaznay, Chardonnay, Bacardi, Alcopop and Topshop at the same time who have just gone round the corner to mug a heroin dealer for mummy's brown sugar.

Adelaide, home of the second biggest fringe festival in the world after edinburgh.

Aylmer, Quebec. A small town across from Ottawa where nothing really exciting happens. Lots of forest hiking trails though :)
