Jarvis is in danger of becoming some kind of a Jools Holland for the Brit Pop generation.

Kinda my thoughts. He's turned into a ubiquitous talking head as to what's "hip" post-Britpop. I mean, come on, Jarvis into an unreconstructed band like Motorhead? Jesus. He should stick to the art world, where I get a feeling his real passions lie these days. There just seems something phoney about all this... |
One thing's certain. It'll be easy finding a seat in any pub in Hoxton on those nights. It'll be like the world Cup for Stereolab fans.
|
i can't imagine seeing motorhead in a venue like the rfh, it would be rubbish watching them whilst sitting down
|
Well I shall probably go to this:
Sunday 17 June Forest of No Return: Hal Willner presents the vintage Disney songbook with Jarvis Cocker and special guests And I'll give very serious consideration to this: Friday 22 June The Jesus and Mary Chain plus 1990's |

Good point T&B. Thanks, you've just saved me a stackload of money. I'll wait til they tour. With Selfish C*nt too? What's the betting there's a scrap in the dressing room? |
I think it's hilarious that they've spent the best part of two years and millions of pounds refurbishing the place and they're having Motorhead & Selfish Cunt play the re-opening night.
|
I'll, of course, be at the Stooges/Scout Niblett show.
And maybe the "vintage Disney" evening. |

I am seriously tempted to test this theory out. First stop will be the Nathan Barley-fest that is the Old Blue Last. |

the old blue last is about the only place to see decent music in shoreditch |
Pretty much true, but the Nathan Barley-ness of it cannot be denied.
