The Devil and Daniel Johnston

Saw this documentary at a film festival today. Was very interesting. I wasn't really aware of his art until now.

Have you seen it?

Got it on DVD. Have to say that Johnston's music is hit or miss, though.

pbradley 05.13.2007 03:51 AM

Rejected Unknown is perhaps my favorite Johnston album.

I like 1990 the best.

Amazing man / great documentary.

i was supposed to go see it last year, but the room at the theater where it was being shown caught on fire and by the time they got it up and running, the film wasn't there anymore.

Spirit World Rising? amazing song and album. I used to have the lyrics from "Some Things Last A Long Time" in my sig
I recently ordered a 5 pack of Dan's cds for around 50 dollars from his website
A good portion of the songs on 1990 make me want to cry. Cry, like at a wedding not a funeral

Taken during the 1990 sessions

1990 is great just to hear Daniel clearly.

I'm looking forward to watching him perform in Manchester on May 22nd. He added a new date to his UK tour as the other date, Manchester the day before, sold out quickly. Does he have a habit for anything in his live performances?

pbradley 05.13.2007 03:40 PM

I've never listened to 1990.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 12.14.2007 04:29 PM
