Percy Ingle's or Gregg's
Can't believe how many more Gregg's are sprouting up on the high streets in place of Percy Ingle's. Gregg's sausage rolls have virtually liquid fillings. diabolical state of affairs. The liberty takin' bastards.
I get confused with bakery chains. We have a Greggs and a Bakers Oven near me. One of them does very nice veggie pasties at a reasonable price, the other is very expensive and, because of that, I've never tried their veggie pasties. I can't remember which is which.
I've never heard of Percy Ingles. Is that an East London thing? |
Percy Ingle's might just be a London thing. But if it is it's on the way out.
Have a Baker's Oven near me. Definitely top quality pasties, despite the price. |
Apart from the nuclear steak bakes (which are a guilty pleasure of mine), the rest of Gregg's food is pure meh. However, they'll end up being as ubiqutous as McDonalds, because people seem by and large content to eat their nosh.
The rise of Gregg's is perhaps the final conformation that, as a nation, Britain is well and truly finished.

I was gonna correct you on this :D, but this phrasing is actually perfect......mate, you think that's bad, wait till the first Tesco ends up on Roman Road... |
It's already there. Right opposite a starburger. no joke.
Oh God, really. Talk about the Triumph of The Everylitttlehelps...
Even I wouldn't eat at a Starburger. And that's saying something.
Gregg's seem to be the only place you can get Cheese and Ham pasties. Sayers do Cheese and Onion, but I don't like onions.
I've never understood the whole cheese and onion combination either. OK in crisps, but that's it.
i've never tried gregg's, and after what you lot say i doubt i will. anyway, i recommend percy ingle's low-gi bread, it's delish!
