Favorite The Cure record ?
Mine is Disintegration. I've included Boys don't cry because it's kind of an album.
|
One of the Faith / Seventeen Seconds / Pornography trilogy, but I can't decide which. Or possibly The Top, if only for Shake Gog Shake and Give Me It.
|
Pornography! definitely!
|
Carnage Visors - Because it's instrumental
Also - the Magazine Spies/Obtainers split 7" - Because my brother in law was one of the Obtainers. OK It's not exactly a Cure record, but Simon Gallup played on it and the Cure paid for the studio time and pressing. |
Seventeen Seconds.
|
three imaginary boys
|
I don't own any Cure albums.
I don't know why, I never really tried to get into them I guess. |
Pornography
Just that title... (kidding) |
Pornography all the way... Just emotionally the cure have never made anything as hard hitting as that album I think - and it was made on drugs.
|
Porno!
|
Pornography hands down.
Seventeen Seconds, Faith and Carnage Visors are tied for second place. |
Pornography, no contest.
Faith or Disintegration would be an honourable second. |
it doesnt matter if we all die...................
best opening line of any album ever....... porography is amasterpiece from an otherwise mediocre band. the cure are just simply not consistent enough to hold my attention for too long....... faith/carnage visors is a second place medal with seventeen seconds in a credible third..... |
Wake up in the dark
The aftertaste of anger in the back of my mouth Spit it on the wall And cough some more And scrape my skin with razor blades And make up in the new blood And try to look so good Follow me! Make up in the new blood And follow me to where the real fun is Ha ha ha!!! As stale and selfish as a sick dog Spurning sex like an animal of god I'll tear your red hair by the roots And hold you blazing Hold you cherished in the dead electric light Your face I'll never see you this way again I captured it so perfectly As if I knew you'd disappear away Shake dog shake You hit me again You howl and hit me again The same sharp pain Wakes me in the dark And cuts me from my throat to my pounding heart My heart My shaking heart Shake dog shake But we slept all night in the virgin's bed And dreamed of death And breathed like sick dogs We slept all night in the virgin's bed And breathed like death And dreamed of sick dogs Shake dog shake Wake up wake up wake up! Shake dog shake Wake up wake up wake up! Shake dog shake Wake up in the new blood Make up in the new blood Shake up in the new blood And follow me to where the real fun is... Shake dog shake Now that is what I call a lyric. |
I chose Head on the Door. It's got a little bit of everything on there. That's why i love Kiss Me too. Lots a different arrangemets and instruments. I think they followed each other, right? I love Pornography too, but it kinda bores me listening to it today..love the overall sound and effects on it.
|
gotta be the self-titled one.
with ross robinson producing, it is just amazing. the cure became a lethal force again, tuning their guitars to mud sharp and having rap parts. if you listen closely, you can actually hear a chain wallet in the recording. fucking brutal. |
er..
pornography. disintegration is pretty good. i dunno, not a huge cure fan, but they are pleasant. you know how they (as in "they" i mean the pulp fiction deleted scenes, but i'm sure it's a reference of something else...) say that you're either a beatles man or an elvis man? i think you're either a smiths man or a cure man. |
I've taken to their first album lately. I love their version of Foxey Lady (more then Hendrix's!)
|
I also like Kiss me kiss me kiss me
|
Many for various reasons...I think Boys Don't Cry Got me into 'em though.
