Daydream Nation deluxe - studio vs live?
 

Now that the DDN deluxe is finally out in the UK, I can, at last, make a comment on it. And my comment is that I'm enjoying the live disc far more than the studio. I just love the rawness of it, the lack of polish.

The copy I ordered from HMV landed on my doorstep this morning, and I've been listening to it all evening.

i'm buying it in a couple of weeks.

especially the usual suspects, i.e. the sprawl, 'cross the breeze, the wonder and hyperstation.

The live Candle had me jumping around the kitchen in a manner most unbefitting for a man of my age.

I'm sorry but you just can't beat the studio version.

i'm still waiting for mine to arrive, amazon seems to have none left in stock so i ordered from HMV. I haven't heard this album yet, I've been waiting for the Deluxe Edition to be released before I hear it, so it's a brand new album for me :D

I doubt there is anything scarier than the vision I just imagined of you moving around your kitchen like a burlesque dancer, complete with scarf and high heels.

They're both equally good, I guess. I just bought DDN Delux.

ok i bought it today, and i just don't think you can beat the studio version of the DDN songs. The live version's are great, but not better.

Yeah, I probably agree. The live version of The Wonder is bitchin though.

But DAMN don't they look fucking kool in all the photo's, so fucking kool!

i dont know if i will get it. i can imagine that i will like the live versions better than the studio ones but then again this was never one of my favourites.

The live disc is off the hook.Reissue of the year.

Bought the deluxe edition today. Loved the live stuff, especially cross the breeze, totally trashed was amazing but still have to go with the studio version for old times sake!
