So, despite my inclination to play devils advocate, isnt this whole thing even worse than Live 8? Properly worse? Christ its been awful and so so pointless.

Absolutely no point whatsoever. That said, Spinal Tap and The Beastie Boys were good.

Out of all the bands from every country, Foo Fighters are the only one that I would be interested in seeing.

But you know when Al Gore announces something, it is gonna suck hard.
