Band name trouble
 

Heres the situation. Me and a friend are planning on starting up a band but we both have an idea for a name. His is Dead Cowboy, after the lightning bolt track and mine is What Was Wound after the unwound track. Which do you think is better.
We haven't played yet but our intention is to create a sound somewhere betwwen Nirvana and Lightning Bolt.

Dead Cowboy reminds me of Space Cowboy which simultaneously reminds me of the Steve Miller Band and Jamiroquai. So I would avoid that... well, actually I like that Jamiroquai song.

But What Was Wound doesn't strike me as a good band name.

Both are kind of lacking.

Why not make something up that isn't another band's song title...?

I believe yr going for the "400 Blows" sound, hehe. Don't worry, they destroy.

Yeah make songs before you make up a band name.

Although i agree to write some songs before deciding upon a name, i'm a major unwound enthusiast and agree on what was wound completely.

Dead Cowboy is a terrible name...
You shouldn't be thinking of a name now it doesn't matter yet. It took my band 3 months until we found a decent name.
