does anyone else love glitch?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glitch
http://www.glitchbrowser.com http://glitch.organised.info does anyone else love glitch? I love glitch music, glitch art, glitched video games, cut-up text (which is, in a way, a form of glitch).. and I'm not sure why... I've been trying to figure out for years what is so appealing about glitch. It's not just aesthetically pleasing, I don't think... the whole idea of "beautiful things fucking up" is not necassarily something that appeals to me 100%, since I much prefer order and cleanliness to messiness.. but yeah.. glitch!... I have often incorporated glitch in my artwork and music without even really thinking about it... I worship the glitch. So, this is a glitch appreciation thread! The idea of scratching up my CD's and ripping them to hear the glitched output has always interested me and is something I've done many times... I remember playing old NES games and they would start glitching and I'd play them anyway; one time ,Metroid glitched forever and random walls/enemies would pop up out of nowhere and disappear just as quickly... and the first time I ever robo tripped, I had Oval's 94 Diskont on repeat the whole time... the first time i EVER tripped, i had this massive glitch-trip.. it was fucking insane... and beautiful. Yeah. |
oh i love finding glitches in video games
Glitches are something i was hoping the matrix would touch apon on its sequels, in the animatrix there was scenes of newspapers floating through the ground, and gusts of wind coming from nowhere. |

I do love glitch and all the austrian Mego music
|
i should do a glitch remix of nyc... nyc glitch and flowers... that'd be the best/easiest to remix because of all the weird little clean single notes and all the sparse parts in most of the songs ... hmm..
|
Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't.
|
yes.
|
So mid-90's, it hurtz.
|
I love glitch music.

i love glitch when it's done properly. the problem i have with glitch music is that there's too many hacks who think they can simply drop in a vst effect over an existing song and then call it a day.
|
yeah, i agree.
dblue glitch.. look it up.. it's so fun to use, but after using it for a bit i realized that it SOUNDS like i used a vst plugin.. so i stopped.. it's much more fun/rewarding/interesting to glitch things up myself.. |

no, i have to say a glich in a computer game i was playing would probably force me to fuck the console off the wall. i think i would find it annoying. maybe a little amusing, like if you were playing counter strike and someone was stuck in a wall or something looking like a prat but if it was a game i was seriously playing on my own and it started fuckin up... chances are i would most probably not find it amusing.
and i'd never intentionaly scratch a CD. i thought this thread was titled "does anyone else love GLICE" now Glice is one cool fucker. i love glice. |
yeah, glitch is the new spazz.
