Computer Wizz's i need help please
 

i am locked out of my computer, i had to change the password the other day and i have no idea what i changed it to

i left a clue for my self it says : 'you'

i have tried as many words as i can and just cant remember it, is there a way i can get back into it?

your help would be much appreciated

hmm.. well, what exactly are you locked out of? just your user profile on windows? because you could just hit cancel when you login to windows and you would still have access to the files on your computer that you would normally be able to access and you could just make a new profile; you just might lose some settings that are individual to your profile, but it shouldn't be a big deal unless it's some amazing extensive thing... the files and the settings ARE on your computer no matter what user you are using...

but i dunno, that seems too obvious, i think i'm actually confused on what you're asking... if you hit cancel, will it just not let you login at all? i'm guessing that's the case. hmm. well, the obvious is to reinstall windows. uhh... yeah. we might be able to help a bit more if i have a few more details. what version of windows you using?

its at the login screen to get in to my user profile
im using windows xp

either way, i'd reccomend annoyances.org for any computer problems...

but can you just cancel the login and access windows still? or does it just keep bringing the login box back up? because, like i said, you could at least make a new profile with your settings/files.. it'll be inconvenient but as long as you can get into windows at all, you're cool. you know?

how do i just cancel the login?
when i turn the computer on it loads all the normal shit then it comes up wtih the screen where i type in my name and password

says stuff like 'Daniels Computer" and "click to enter username" and it has a little personal picture next to where i enter in my info

and its the only login, so how do i make another if i cant get into the computer to make one?

When that happened to me on XP, I made another account that had administrative power and removed the password from my other account.

yeh this is the adminstrative account, its the only account

and just so we are clear..im not actually on THAT computer, im on a laptop because i cant get into my computer

This is intriuging, like the Bourne Identity. Do you remember why you had to change it? Could the password be alien anal? or possibly 'you'?

Otherwise if worse comes to worse I guess you could just reformat...

Try logging in failsafe mode, perhaps it won't ask you the password.
