awkward phases
 

so as i have just been going though a heap of old pictures, i realized that i was not immune to the phenomena known to the general public as an "awkward phase". wearing hideous, ill-fitting clothing, perhaps a terrible haircut, weird teeth, odd proportions, etc.

so spill. i want to hear every last gruesome detail about your "awkward" phase(s), even if speaking of such a painful time in one's life throws you into a maddening depression.
photographic evidence is not necessary but it is encouraged.

i haven't gone out of the awkward phase yet.

why??? hearing about yours is a lot more amusing. details, please, details...

We're still on message boards, things must be pretty awkward for all of us.

i was really goofy and kind of weird looking, like before i started putting any thought into my appearance. i had a kind of boyish figure and i was way taller than everyone else, and then i started plucking my eyebrows and i sucked at it and fucked them up several times...

i guess i was like 11, 12 maybe. that coat was god awful, it had sky blue panels down the side and it was nylon or whatever they made those fucking things out of.

My friend plucked my eye brows the other day. My eye brows were really ugly. They made this weird angular arch. Now they are just normal looking.

the clothes suck but you look fine, you big showoff! :P

i have to pluck the shit out of mine because they're the same color as my hair is naturally i guess, and if they were thick they would look weird with such light hair. but these days i am an expert.

I AM NOT SHOWING OFF. you haven't seen the worst of it. i'll dig up more but here's one of that hideous coat and my angular face. i looked like a long-haired boy.

I used to be really fat when I was 11/12. Thank god I got taller and thinned out quite a bit. I still need to lose a few pounds though.

Cantankerous, you may have looked like a long hair boy, but you look great now and thats all that matters.

i don't think she's really "traumatized" by her past, but just having a good laugh.

i know! i totally looked like mick jagger minus horse teeth, which is not so great for a girl but i think i've evolved enough from that point.

I look the same as I did when I was 7 (I'd kill for my old Flash Gordon shirt), but my hair is no longer blonde. I tried to scan some of my old pics, but the scanner's power supply cord has gone missing.

I had a bowl-cut for... fuck, man, years. But that was when it was cool to have them, 'cos I was like, 5-7, so I mean... who cares?

As of yet, I don't seem to be able to get out of an awkward stage...

they were actually some weird-ass pants where they had strings at the ankles that you could pull and they'd turn into capri pants or whatever. i think they had some pink and orange dragony embroidery at the side.
awful, i know.
actually if you like that coat you might like this one i have now, it's this big puffy colorblocked/chevron striped thing from the 70s. brown, orange, and yellow.

you'll pull yourself out of it. i believe i started going wayward not too long after those photos were taken...now my wardrobe contains an obscene amount of lurex, velvet, and platform shoes, which is perhaps awkward but at least i look cool most of the time. give it a bit of time and soon you might be even more flamboyant.
