future of the left "curses" (ex-mclusky)
 

Anyone heard this yet? It's, uh, almost identical to McLusky, though a bit more complex (and there are keyboards/pianos in a few tracks). Not sure about it, I really dig some of the tracks, I love the super-fuzzy (and, uhm, Big-Muffy) bass and the silly guitar lines/pop hooks like McLusky had, but I dunno. Some of the songs are quite lame and it seems they go on too long. Still worth a listen. The first few listens, I was really into it, but now.. I dunno. I'd give it a 6.

didn't care for mclusky, but i haven't heard future of the left quite yet. some of my friends saw them at sxsw and said it was great, but their taste can be questionable.

I gave it just a couple listens, quite enjoyable but too many songs imo, gotta listen deeper to give a proper review on this, but it's a more than decent comeback. I loved McLusky and their sounds too, and I must say this is (soundwise) a really nice record too with some twists added.

Ive not heard Future of the left yet, but Mclusky were wonderful.

I haven't checked them out yet, but I most certainly will. McLusky were one of my favorite bands.

future of the left apparently have some live album now or some nonsense.

excellent album... dunno if its as good or better or equal as mclusky..
its a different feel to it, its more pointy fingers than hand claps... its more lime zest than chilli flakes...

In retrospect... I didn't really care for it, it had some good songs on it though.
Pretty boring.

These guys are local to me...I'm not a big fan to be honest. A bit too macho for my liking. Maybe not them per se but certainly going to their shows there's a lot of fist pumping and posturing. Having said that, I enjoyed Qui a lot and that was similarly macho. The only song I like of theirs is Manchasm.

don't like em, didn't like mcclusky particularly either, in fact i thought they were kind of dull.
