James Brown

What albums to pick up? I only have like compilations or whatever, which is awesome, but what's a pretty consistent album by the man?

Norma J 10.13.2007 12:22 AM

I love his music. It's got so much energy and charisma.

Dead-Air 10.13.2007 12:52 AM

I know you're talking studio albums, but Live at the Apollo is a classic to really hear him working it as only he could.

in the jungle groove and the payback do it for me, strictly speeaking in the jungle groove is a comp but of a particular 9six month I think) period with his most shit hot band.

I've always found his work to be mehsauce outside of the 20 All-Time Greatest Hits! comp. and Live at the Apollo.

Norma J 10.14.2007 03:25 AM

'mehsauce'. Is this some kind of 'hip' lingo the kids are now using?

Rob Instigator 10.14.2007 11:59 AM

Have you seen the man with the golden crotch?

Everyneurotic 10.14.2007 01:47 PM

your best bet is scoring a well rounded compilation.

yeah, the hardest working man in show business, the godfather of soul was pretty awesome.

Norma J 10.14.2007 04:35 PM

I bought another compilation yesterday with a bunch of songs that I don't have on my other comp. It was only $10 so that's a plus.

Good song. Good album.

I saw James Broiwn a couple of times at the V festival in Chelmsford
He always had his "bag man" with him as he insisted he was paid half his fee in cash
He used to insist on the size and colour of the limo that picked him up and the type of Winnebago he wanted backstage
And the reason he was always late going on stage?
He always had a blonde who travelled with him give him a bj before he went on

Norma J 10.14.2007 04:46 PM

Sounds like the life to me.
