For those who skate, discuss it here. I just got back into it in the last week. Here's my new deck that I bought today:

 

perfect timing for this thread
last night i wss drunk and on a pill and a half
we went to a skatepark and the guy i was with was rolling around really smoothly and it looked fun so i said "i wanna do that" so i stood on the deck and just rolled down this big ass drop and slapped onto the ground instantly....got up and did it again and now i might have a broken or fractured wrist

I could never skate, it wasn't that interesting. But I envy those that can do it perfectly.

it's been at least 15 years, but I used to skate on a Zorlac - Craig Johnson deck:

My little brother works at a skateshop. He accidentally broke his wrist skating last week.

I said 15 years ago!

and for the record, I may be old, but I'm not wrinkly (I still get carded for smokes....sometimes). :p

I totally smashed my leg up skateboarding and was in traction in hospital for almost two months. My leg was like an S shape. and had it been filmed would've pushed that Unsane video way up into the X Rated category for sure. It's still about a half inch shorter than the other and i suffer constantly from cramp in it. Never been on a board since or had to visit a hospital as anyrthing other than a visiter.

I used to skate but I lost my crappy KMart skateboard. All I could really do was stay on the board and turn ..kind of. Yep.

I have no interest in skateboarding whatsoever. And have not since I was a kid.

went to the hospital today
and found out i broke my hand/wrist so i am in a cast and sling now

My mom broke her arm once. But not skateboarding. She tripped over a bed.

I broke my wrist skateboarding when I was younger. It was a huge fuck-off hill with lots of rocks, so I decided to go down the hill sitting ony my arse, I thought it'd be safer. Then I was getting the speed wobbles so I thought "best stand up and face it". Then I stood up and hit a rock and SMACK!

Ouch. I just hurt my shoulder after stacking an ollie. My trucks are too loose and I landed funny.

i'm actually watching the krooked kronichles dvd right now. i've been skating on and off since 6th grade and i'll probably continue to until i'm physically unable to skate any longer.
