ATP 2008
All Tomorrow's Parties 2008
this article posted on: Fri., October 19, 2007 Hi everyone, We are incredibly excited to annouce that we are curating and playing the 2008 All Tomorrow's Parties Festival which will be held May 16 - 18 in the UK. The confirmed acts so far include Broken Social Scene, Iron and Wine, Dinosaur Jr, ...And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead, and Adem. There are still about 30 more bands that will be confirmed over the coming months. This is probably the single most exciting thing we've ever been involved in so we want to thank everyone involved. We hope some of you can make it out. Anyway, to find out more about this festival and how to get tickets and where it takes place and all that sort of thing, please go to www.atpfestival.com Okay. Thanks for caring. Love, Explosions from EITS site. I'll never understand how one can consider those acts "confirmed" months in advance, hell, the world might come to an end sooner. |
I need to save up money to go to ATP sometime.
|
It's too early to tell, I know, but the names they've given as already confirmed don't do much to thrill me.
I am now feeling a little envious of the people who are going to the Portishead one though, but not envious enough to think of going. |
totally off topic, but thanks to Nefeli and Stephen too (you know why)
Guess it's REALLY early for a judgment, but till now I'm with sonicl, no striking names yet. |
Meh, first Pitchfork, then Explosions in the Sky.
If there's going to be a 3rd weekend they might as well ask pokkeherrie's mum. I'm somewhat starting to think about Portishead ATP now too. On second thought it's not even that bad at all. It's sold out of course, but maybe I'll still try to get there. I'm a bit with sonicl though; it might be good, but it's definitely not a must-go-at-all-costs. But still better than the next two. |
Given that it's down the road from me, and Portishead are local (given that, err, Portishead the town is about 10 minutes drive) it's pretty much a must-go, which will probably continue to be the case for a while.
|
for you, yes.
but if you live around london like sonicl, or outside the uk like me, then it's definitely not a must-go. i still might try to though. |
oh, I'd definitely love to see Broken Social Scene and Iron and Wine.
WHY THE HELL WAS I NOT BORN IN THE UK? I could be such a lovely chav. |

The only lovely chavs are dead ones. |
EITS = automatic not interested.

You could never be a chav. You speak a second language, for a start. |

What's the ATP experiance like? I'm considering going but also concerned that it's quite a bit of money to see, really, polvo and dino jr.
|
no one has been then?
|
i went to the one SY curated @ UCLA. it was damn kool. saw a bunch of bands/musicians i've always wanted to, and found out about a bunch i'd never heard of that i love now. but it's just to damn expensive to go to the one in the UK. why's all the kool shit for rich people?
