Thirteen Ghosts(Derek Bailey + Thurston Moore)
Hey, i'm new here (obviously) and have been trying to find information on this record for a while, it's by the above mentioned collection of artists and it's called
"Legend of the blood yeti". Is it any good, and what does Thurston add to Bailey's style? Just looking for basic info really, and I thought I would take advantage of this site as it appears to be a pool of knowlege. cheers tom |
it's not bad. not one of my favourite SY solo/side project outings. but when i do spin it i tend to be pleasantly suprised. thurston and derek play seperately with the thirteen ghosts... they each retain their idiosyncratic guitar stylings amidst the rambunctious improv whims of dreizehn spectre (flown)

It's cool, racehorse - buy it.

i have,it,love the artwork more than the music actually...but if you're into guitar iprov there are many good "things" to pay attention to.

I have had this puppy for years and love it, it didn't make sense to me until i went to japan and was all alone and couldnt speak the language. walking around tokyo with that loud and watching all the frenetic action around made me fell like the music slowed right down and became easily understandable.
apparently it was originally recorded in a buddhist temple to an audience of about twenty and the original master tapes mysteriously or maybe not so disappeared so they went and rerecorded it in the studio. i would have loved to have heard the atmospherics sounding the recording on the original it would be sublime........ |
yeah, the notes on the booklet are a great read....now i'll check google for the cover art and maybe the back coz it's great....
