weddings

uuuugh
i hate them.
my dad's getting married in april...he and i are on better terms now but not the greatest terms. i'm not looking forward to this however. the only reason i ever turn up at weddings is for the free booze. i always end up changing clothes 3 times beforehand as well.

your opinions on weddings and or stories.

i enjoy the reception, but not the ceremony

SynthethicalY 12.05.2007 12:28 AM

I never been to one, I am finally going to one at the end of December. My brother is getting married.

Cantankerous 12.05.2007 12:29 AM

the reception is usually okay, because you can gather with people you like at one corner of the room...the ceremony is undoubtedly agonizing.
i do have an idea of what i'll wear, though. either:
white gauze babydoll dress (spaghetti strap)
wood soled platform shoes
a daisy in my hair
OR
long red velvet slip from france
god knows what shoes, i'm sure i'll end up taking them off anyway.

i forgot to mention i'll also be gaining step siblings who i've learned to get along with better but at least i don't have to live with them.

Everyneurotic 12.05.2007 12:34 AM

weddings usually suck.

davenotdead 12.05.2007 12:34 AM

go with the red velvet. unless you plan on changing your hair color again before the wedding...if so, then post pics and consult with me.

weddings are fun if you like your family...or the crowd youre with...ive only been to family weddings...

unless i plan on changing my hair color? i'll probably go with the white one. my hair will be long again by then and wavy and i'll feel like a sprite. and hell no am i getting rid of the blonde.

Maybe I'm just gaytarded, but I thought you weren't supposed to wear white to someone else's wedding.

davenotdead 12.05.2007 12:37 AM

alex has a point

i suppose you're right, but it would look so pretty. and i'm not sure my soon to be step mother's dress is going to be white.

SynthethicalY 12.05.2007 12:39 AM

You're not supposed to wear white?

davenotdead 12.05.2007 12:39 AM

i think your skin tone would be better with color

Cantankerous 12.05.2007 12:40 AM

my mom always tells me i look washed out in white. my skin is as white as skin can get.

davenotdead 12.05.2007 12:41 AM

most people do

But you don't want to be an anorexic snowman, do you?

[in my best Tim Gun voice]

I think the contrast of a red dress with your skin would look just stunning.

Cantankerous 12.05.2007 12:42 AM

tan girls look really pretty in white.

i personally think this would look good, i look good in magenta and it's a bit less obvious than blood red.

SynthethicalY 12.05.2007 12:43 AM

That is a nice dress.

Cantankerous 12.05.2007 12:45 AM

i'm scanning through all the files of shit i've bought on ebay now to see if i can avoid buying another dress i don't need.

wouldn't it be hilarious if i showed up in some old ratty t shirt and a pair of jeans?

davenotdead 12.05.2007 12:49 AM

a slightly tanned Liz Hurley looks good in white...

Alex's Trip 12.05.2007 12:51 AM

You always look good, so if I were you I'd just not wear white. I'm not sure of the wedding etiquette. If it isn't the first wedding for either of them, the bride might not wear white, but who really pays attention to that shit anyway. Just be safe and don't go with white. Because it seems tacky to wear it to someone else's wedding regardless of what wedding it is, who's wearing what, etc...
