Need cool places to go to in PARIS

hi!

i am in paris and looking for cool places to go to while here. looking for places like smell, short stop, little joy, smog cutter, cool areas of art/music and cheaper bars with a cool jukebox and cool people. i am currently in the 16th. addresses would help tremendously.

thx!

Paris, Texas or Paris, France?

If you're refering to Europe, I recommend La Bastille for it's bars and nightlife.
Check out the little side streets for some great drinking spots.

Le Marais is a nice area for sight-seeing, window-shopping and a good falafel or sushi.

Le Cimetière du Perè Lachaise is a beautiful place to visit.
Be sure to check out the grave sites of Oscar Wilde, Jim Morrison, Modigliani, Édith Piaf, etc.
It should keep you busy for at least a day.

Centre Georges Pompidou for modern art, or Le Louvre for the masters.

Enjoy your stay in the "City of Love".

16th is up in montematre isn't it? i stayed a week in the 2nd not long ago, near les halles and there was a cool pub there just down montegueil. the was a great dixie band playing outside the pub and everyone was sitting around singing along, it was alot of fun. as far as i am aware there is no real rock scene in paris but there are tons and tons of tiny little bars to go to.

If I was in Paris I'd party with some sexy eurotrash people.

Try the Saint Michel area (RER B, Saint Michel-Notre Dame station), there're a lot of cafe, shops, students....

how can a country be incredibly stylish, have beautiful people (esp the grrrls!), so much art and culture but be so musically challenged? i cannot find a decent bar/pub/club that plays anything good. i am sure they exist, but peoples...HELP!!! i like everything as well!

come on frenchies...help me out a little ^_^

When I was in Marseille I was at a cafe and a cover of Heart Attack and Vine was on. Shrug.

Isn't Jacques Brel like the Frank Sinatra of France? That's what I'd want to listen to there.

Well, we're bad at music here. There 're some good place but I don't know them. You could go to the Guiness Tavern in the 1st district (I don't remember the street's name), but the music is uneven there and the beers are too expansive. Or you could try the "Abracadabar" (Porte de Pantin, metro Line 7), some of my friends said me it's a good place, but I didn't try it yet.
:( Sorry, man, you should ask Bertrand, he's wiser than me.

I'm not from paris, but I've been there few times...
at night there are many nice clubs...
tryptique is nice, it's free entrance, depends on the night but there are sometimes cool concerts.
there's also batofar (sp?)... it's a bateaux tres ivre dans la seine turned into a club. there are two floors-every time I've been there it was interesting by an sociological point of view: there was this balck/white segregation: hiphop in a floor=all blacks, good/euro/electro in the other floor=all whites! but the palce is cool... it's a boat!
then in the day to hang out my favourite place in paris is belleville... is cool and calm, colourful and very european. northern there there's a wonderful park built by napoleon, can't remember the name.

have fun
