Songs About Fucking.. masterpiece!

EDIT: Sorry, lemme elaborate.. I prefer Songs About Fucking because the drum programming is a bit more complex as are the structures as a whole.. I think it doesn't have as many classic songs as Atomizer, but it has some of the best and the most underrated of Big Black's catalogue (I consider "Pavement Saw", "Kitty Empire", and especially the otherworldly "Kasimir S. Pulaski Day" 3 songs no one really talks about that just amazing). Also, "FISH FRY" has one of my favorite riffs ever! Also, I think the bass playing is a bit better on this album. And etc. You really can't go wrong with either one.

I just called my girlfriend up and asked her which album she liked better and she said "songs about fucking. L DOPA!" So, put in a vote from her too.

It's a tough call but I'll go with Songs About Fucking. It's got more of my favs on it, 'Bad Penny', 'Columbian Necktie', 'The Power of Independent Trucking'. Classic.

song about fucking for about the same reasons atsonicpark said. bad penny is my favoriet song on it and fish fry kicks ass too. my favorite big black song is passing complexion.

But between the two, Atomizer all the way. I've never quite liked the way the songs were mixed on SAF, though I admire it in theory. It just doesn't hook the way Atomizer and Racer X do, which is perfectly fine and I'm sure the intention, but the hooks on those records are so immense and the pristine mix has lots to do with it. My favorite songs all come off of those two records, yeah "Kerosene" is played to death, but it deserves it, and then "Bad Houses" is for me the most underrated Albini song period. Racer X has that awesome title track and "Ugly American" which is another of Albini's most definitive statements.

Tiny, King Of The Jews is the only song that makes me feel like I'm a serial murderer when I listen to it.

So Songs About Fucking. Though He's A Whore is a sore thumb of a track.

I'll listen when New Day Rising is over. I'm singing along at the moment

I find the songs on Songs About Fucking to be too short.
