new lightning bolt???
 

ive been hearinf rumours about new stuff from the bolt for the past year and a half probably, and still nothing. granted i know the homies brian are busy with lotsa other shit, chippendale with his comics, mindflayer, and black pus, and gibson with wizarrdz and other stuff im sure, but fuck, theres little doubt in my mind that lightning bolt is BY FAR their most creative and awesome shit, and its been damn near three years since hypermagic mountain (which was good, but not nearly as good as ride the skies and wonderful rainbow), and we need some new fucking bolt music! lightning bolt is one of the biggest reasons for the huge amount of creativity coming out of, and spotlight being put on the contemporaty american noise rock scene, and they are inarguably one of the best noise rock bands of the decade, and i miss them goddamnit. so someone PLEASE tell me somethin good about bolt...

side note: ive seen lightning bolt play live more than any other bands ive seen, probably because i grew up so close too providence and they play there often, and they NEVER dissapoint. last time i saw them , summer 06, my brothers friend took 5 hits of acid, and of course couldnt handle the volume and lack of space and within 10 mins went into a full blown panic attack, and had to get taked out by paramedics, stretcher and all. LONG LIVE LIGHTNING BOLT!!!

Has it been three years since Hypermagic? Damn.
Some new stuff would be nice.

hypermagic mountain is my favorite lb album.

but yeah, i don't know, whenever they are ready; rather wait and have my mind blown once again than have a new one tomorrow that's just alright.

Lightning Bolt rule, I'm sure they already have songs prepared for the new album. I tend to prefer their first album the most but I also love Hypermagic Mountain (Ride the Skies, I think, being their weakest release thus far). Excellent band; all in all, one of the best bands around.

Lightning Bolt are high up on my bands to see live list.

favourite thing by them is the peel session, intensity doesn't seem to come across as much on the LPs.

LB usually come around my way every time they do a US tour, so I'll be sure to catch them.

A new album would be great. Personally, I prefer Wonderful Rainbow for LP releases.

nah dude, ive been living in arizona for a yr and a half, i used to check em out a lot around ride the skies and wonderful ranbow. and sonicpark, i like their debut too, hisham's vocals were pretty cool, but theyre better off as a duo.

well that show was in july of 06. amazing night....

I've been hearing for awhile they're going to record this year and take it easy on touring until after they put the album out. When I saw them last May almost all of the songs were new (about 8 new ones or so) and they were fucking mindblowing, ear shattering LB goodness.

the bolt are supposed to be releasing something in the summer on load. so add another 6 months to that!

Even though the Bolt's new album is still a bit mysterious, Black Pus is fucking insane. I dare say Chippendale is outdoing what he does for LB in many ways with his solo work, at least from what I saw live last night.

yeah, i havnt seen him live yet, but the songs ive heard are pretty great. everything chippendale does ranges from great to brilliant. i like all his bands, even when he was a little punker in pissants, i think that shit rules. hes just an amzing musician and an immesley talented guy. i even love his ninja comic book. but, lightning bolt is unquestionably his best shit, him and gibson bring out the best in eachother.

It's entirely true. I guess I'm just going through Lightning Bolt withdrawal since it's been a year since they blew my mind in a garage in brooklyn and teased me with many, many new tunes I've been desperately awaiting to hear in a proper recorded form. Black Pus is some seriously intense shit though. He didn't take the show away from Boredoms because they blew minds left, right, up and down as always but he was still pretty incredible.
