So I am seeing Xiu Xiu next weekend...
 

It should be a decent show. I'm not the biggest fan, but when something like that comes through the Cincinnati area, you better jump on board fella, cause it will be a while before something else even worthwhile comes back.

(Side note: Stephen Malkmus will be here this Sunday, but I will be in Columbus at a going away party, so I can't make that one :( )

I have always wanted to hear xiu xiu live. I love their freaked out horror-gay records.

I've heard part of it, and I liked what I heard. I was psyched about this show and almost considered skipping out of the going away party since they are my wife's friends and I don't even know them. But she wants me to meet them before they go to middle of China somewhere, so I gotta.

Xiu Xiu is fantastic live. Bring some tissue in case he does Hives Hives. Absolutely heart breaking.

I'm going to get my wife to go, which is cool, because usually she doesn't like too much of my music, but she has said she liked Xiu Xiu.

Side note: Don't worry, she also like Sonic Youth.

Nice, I might be seeing them tomorrow if I have nothing else to do. I have lots of work to get done though and I should do that. My buddies band is opening for them.

After seeing this, I can't wait to go.

xiu xiu grew on me big time. i used to think they were just another electroclash band (around like 02), but dude, jamie stewart is seriously like an avant garde morrisey, his lyrics are incredibly pained and personal, set to the backdrop of this noisy post punk hybrid, theyre great live too, women as lovers is pretty darn good too.

i'm seeing them on the 4th! let me know what the setlist is when you see them so i can get an idea.

I've never seen them live, I'm very curious though. I like what I've seen on youtube so far.
