Big Love

Anyone else find this show fricking awesome? I think Bill is a really respectable guy, he works hard, supports seven children, and honestly loves and appreciates all three of his wives. Which wife is your favorite? I like Margene, but Barb is really cool too.

Nobody here watches HBO? Come on!

Last HBO show I watched was Deadwood.. and I was the only one who liked it...

what the fuck?

sorry i have no idea about this shit.

tv is for losers.

atari 2600 05.22.2006 06:00 PM

I haven't watched it.
It has Harry Dean Stanton, so I probably should, but I'm worn out after The Sopranos & can't sit through it & get into new characters, etc.

I can understand that HBO wanted to have a strong lead-in, but I just wish the show was on another night of the week. Besides, Showtime airs Huff in the same time slot. There's just no way that Big Love is a better show than Huff. Although, showtime gives Huff a replay directly after the first broadcast anyway.

That would be a great theme song for the show. The theme song for it is some Beach boys song though, something about "God only knows how much I love you."

Margene, Barbara, and Nicki

Pixies' "Gigantic" was actually the first thing I thought of too when I read the topic title.

I don't have HBO, but the only HBO show I like and watch the DVDs for is Curb Your Enthusiasm. I don't think it could get much better than that.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 05.23.2006 12:40 AM

Curb is great.

krastian 05.23.2006 12:49 AM

Curb is indeed great.....God I miss Six Feet Under.

Big Love is good show, I have been keeping up with it ad have seen all the episodes. I went with Margene, just because she seems detached from the other wives, I particularly like the "smoking" scene this week.

The best scene in Big Love by far was when Roman's "go-to" guy (Don't remember his name. That tall pale, redheaded guy, who seems to drive the Hummer a lot) goes into the hotel room with the gay dude. He then starts whining and banging his head on the wall in reaction to the gay guy making moves on him. The whole scene is really unnecessary and surreal, like something out of a David Lynch movie. My guess is that polygamist lifestyle sheltered the guy from homosexual situations and the guy just went "nutzo" when he actually encountered one. Great writing, directing, and acting in that scene.
