karma

will it get you? do you believe in it? does what goes around come around? etc etc etc.

Savage Clone 04.01.2008 03:56 PM

Too much evidence to the contrary.
Getting rid of one's conscience seems to be the true secret of success as far as I can tell.

Trasher02 04.01.2008 03:56 PM

Nah, it's all a load of bollocks of you ask me... Why Jon boy? Do you want to confess something?

jon boy 04.01.2008 03:57 PM

my consience is clear.

Green_mind 04.01.2008 04:04 PM

Hopefully it does exist in a sense, all those greedy pigs who steal on Jasper Carrot's Golden Balls make me sick.

I don't need a fear of retribution in order to keep me from being a prick.

No, karma os just like sin but put in a term not to offend atheist.

Savage Clone 04.01.2008 04:21 PM

I'm pretty sure a superstition like "karma" is just as non-empirical as the ridiculous notion of "sin."

"do good things an' good things happen"

Dead-Air 04.02.2008 01:03 AM

I logically see the points of all that say it doesn't exist, and that the scum shall rise to the top. However, I must have it quite emotionally ingrained somewhere. Whenever I start to do something I feel on some moral level I shouldn't, I feel a major fear of what might happen if I did. Doesn't always stop me, but it's always there.

Anyway, Nietzsche always struck me as an asshole I wouldn't want to emulate.

I don't believe that Nietzsche would want you to emulate him, either.

pbradley 04.02.2008 02:12 AM

So really? You all believe that generosity must be rewarded or else generosity is without worth?

I heard the same thing from a Christian, yet he used the phrase divine judgment.

I resent the idea of fishing for validation.

No, I am usually generous to people, because that is how my parents brought me up. I stopped believing in Karma and all that last year, as soon as I threw out religion out the window as well.

sarramkrop 04.02.2008 03:22 AM

No.
