What do you do to entertain yourself when you're bored at work?

guess what.

Kill my time on here and the internet in general. Unfortunately I can't escape either the internet or my office because I work by myself and I also man the phones. I read, listen to music, mostly undisturbed.

Right now I'm deleting old emails and sub-folders. Oh, the joy of life!

apart from the internet

i'm unemployed as of recently because i quit.
i mostly sleep or sit around and smoke hash and read. all day. today i have to pack for a two week trip. tomorrow i have to writhe in my own fucking grease and coldsweat for at least 24hrs. hopefully theres time for a stopover in LA.

I was doing almost absolutely nothing for the past 2 weeks at work since my replacement guy has already come and my only job now is to check his work and correct occasional mistakes of his. So, most of the time I'm pretty bored and I'm dividing this idle time into books (Don DeLillo's "White Noise" at present), Google Earth (big fascination! I'm sneaking on North Koreans) and this shithole.

I make fun of people on the phone making sure that they don't notice.

im not "bored at work" but i do procrastinate often due to anxiety/overload/the need to sort shit out.

for light duty i post here, for hardcore procrastination i recently bought civilization IV which can murder 4 hours in a blink.

i'm thinking i'm gonna try the stock market instead. seriously.

how does that work online? isnt it painfully slow? or is it realtime? and what time commitment does it require?

im thinking i wanna do the stock market as it's more of a blood sport. got any stock tips?

Mostly sleep or sit around and shoot heroin and read or listen to music. Tomorrow I'm off for a jaunt to the Bahamas--just hope Keef remembered to stock my room with the prerequisites (wink wink nudge nudge).

i've been thinking about putting some money in a couple of investment funds, i dont think i'm ready to be a player yet.

the game (downloadable) is only $30 at gamestop, but the hours it can kill will cost you lots more.

about the stock, you only learn if you try i guess, so i'm looking for businesses that do well during recession time a well as companies with strong international growth. i'm just going to start with a little money and see.

that's why I'm suggesting play by email! you take a turn and email a game data dump to the next person (and so on). will take forever to actually finish a game, but the time spent at one sitting will be much much less.

it's like play by mail chess, but with aztecs and the velvet underground.
