Internet Actor

Would you say you're personality here on this forum is the same as in real life or different?

screamingskull 04.20.2008 01:53 PM

I think i am pretty genuine on here. You have to think before you say things, as you have to type them out. So i might not be as insensitive as i am in real life.

Not that i am insensitive.

atsonicpark 04.20.2008 01:54 PM

Yeah.

Lurker 04.20.2008 01:54 PM

I would say I am very different.

Phlegmscope 04.20.2008 02:22 PM

well, my opinions here are genuine, but in the world of bones and flesh I am way more annoying and less premeditated.

gmku 04.20.2008 02:29 PM

Yes and no.

jon boy 04.20.2008 02:34 PM

i am different/the same. i guess it depends on what mood i am in.

pantophobia 04.20.2008 02:40 PM

pretty much exactly the same, if not a more boisterous version when i am online

i tend to be muted in person, although if i remember correctly on day three of atp04, i was in a weird mood and stood on my head with pokkeherrie, nefeli, toilet & bowels, naomi, jenn and others in the room, i don't remember why

Savage Clone 04.20.2008 02:54 PM

I talk to strangers more often than usual here, but aside from that, it's pretty much the same.

davenotdead 04.20.2008 02:56 PM

i dont know. same i guess

Glice 04.20.2008 03:11 PM

I'm a smidgen more outspoken in the real world generally, and lots handsomer.

Toilet & Bowels 04.20.2008 03:16 PM

i'm more inclinded to tell people that they're idiots on the internet than in real life, but then i encounter far more idiots on the internet than i do in my real life.

It's probably easier to qualify the question of this thread by commenting on people I've met in the real world who first existed in my computer - Mr & Bowels is a great deal more dry than the internet lets on, and comes across as very gregarious. The problem with this question, one supposes, is that once there's a real-world person behind the posts, the posts just perpetuate what you know of a person. Unless there are those who are more duplicitous in their posting than the people I've met from this forum.

Actually, I've met people from other forums who've said I come across as much less of a cunt in person. Again, tone of voice etc.

Sonic Youth 37 04.20.2008 03:47 PM

I'd have to say different, but not by much. I'm pretty much a text-based version of my actual self here. I'm a lot more sarcastic in real life, but sarcasm doesn't translate well in text most of the time.

ALIEN ANAL 04.21.2008 05:20 AM

different in person

NWRA 04.21.2008 06:01 AM

I'm a different person with my friends, I'm different at work, I'm different with other groups of friends, I'm different with my family, and I'm different on other Internet forums, etc.

That's why when I'm alone, I don't know what to do. I just pull faces at myself in the mirror. And cry.

Although these 'differences' basically amount to talking about different pop-culture; nothing real.

█████████ 04.21.2008 08:05 AM

different.

Savage Clone 04.21.2008 08:07 AM

You mean you don't change your name every few months in the Meatworld?

sarramkrop 04.21.2008 08:11 AM

I'm as schizophrenic on here as in real life.

jon boy 04.21.2008 08:25 AM

to a certain extent we are all actors.
