back about 2002 one of Lee's travis bean guitars, surfaced

then in 05 two more of Lee's guitars the other travis bean ( in very bad shape) and his original tele deluxe that predates SY resurfaced

check chris' gearography for pics and info on all that

I guess I'm not sonically hip enough to understand how a band losing thousands of dollars in goods could be a blessing in disguise.

if their guitars didnt get stolen, they wouldn't have taken such a creative detour (nyc ghosts + flowers) which i think is a great album.

i wish i can travel to that parallel universe where their stuff DIDNT get stolen. i wonder what their next album would of sounded like.

Yeah, I understood his original point... and NYC Ghosts and Flowers is good... but A Thousand Leaves was GREAT, and they had their gear then.

I just don't see how a bunch of irreplaceable equipment being stolen could be a "blessing in disguise", no matter what came out of it. Just seems like a silly thing to say.
