the thing boxset
 

anyone into this band? its mats gustaffson's band, free jazz/avant jazz. anyways, theyre great. they have a boxset coming out this is composed of their first two records, 'the thing' and 'she knows' as well as a live dvd with thurston. i suggest yall check it out.

i've heard a few different things from gustaffson, i really wanted to like it, but i think it's all rubbish.

I love that movie - the John Carpenter version anyway.

I believe Ennio Morricone did the soundtrack for the film. If I'm not mistaken.

I thought it was John Carpenter himself. It certainly sounded like his work. Very similar to the music of 'Assault on Precinct 13'

No, I think it was Morricone.

It's one of the few remakes that's far better than the original, I think.

I stand corrected, but it sounds like Carpenters work.

Really? That's one of my favourite soundtracks. I have never seen the movie neither heard the soundtrack. I will check both out. Thanks.
