how great is "insignificance"
i've had eureka for over a year and love that record, so i decided to continue my venture into jim o's solo records and bought insignificance. wow, this record is even better! what are some other really good non-sonic jim O projects, is gastr del sol any good? also what about loose fur?

Gastr Del Sol is incredible. My favorite is Crookt, Crackt, or Fly.

bad timing
4 john fahey like acoustic fingerpicking instrumental tunes. each about 10 minutes long. alot of lush instrumentation with brass instruments, pedal steel, etc. 3 of em start with just the gtr with the other instruments coming in later. beautiful stuff |
cus listening to you reminds me of a motors endless drone and how the deaf are so damn lucky... what brilliant lyrics. The lyrics to halfway to a threeway are even better
|
I just realized uzzoB-ginK spelt his name wrong. LOL.

i'm happy and i'm singing and a 1234
|
ah so y're right, oops!
|
I remeber the final Gastor record coming out around the same time as A Thousand Leaves,it's called Camofleur. Both those records ruled for me in the spring of 98.
|
I think Gastr Del Sol is wonderful as well.
Crookt, Crackt, or Fly and Serpetine Similar are really great. |
if you like wilco, you'd do well to check out loose fur. both albums are totally bodacious. the first one is more experimental and pensive in some ways whereas the second one is like straight up prog/classic rock with great quirky wordplay.
