You Know Who Should Stop??? George Lucas...
|
Oh man I saw this trailer the other day when I went to see Wall-E. Lame.
|
i'm not seeing this.
|
You know who should stop worrying about things like this? Everyone.
|
George Lucas shouldn't stop, he should just dive into his true passion.
Star Wars Porn. You'd buy it. |
I don't know what the problem is; I think it's gonna be a great video game.

Truesay, but my generation is the one who has dealt with George Lucas Raping his entire series over and over with digital dick wash. So we are naturally alittle tired of it. I was about 11 or 12 in 96 whenever he re-edited the old trilogy and it came out on vhs...thought some parts were cool but some were weird even back then. It's been downhill ever since... |
I don't give two shits about Star Wars and won't see this. At the same time, I'm not concerned in the least about who does go and see it. There's obviously a market and an audience for it, obviously it's going to make money, so good for them. I'm not going to waste my time hating something I have no interest in.

Star Wars is bollocks.
|
Star Wars must have been mindblowing in 1970 whatever. I dunno. Its just something I've never paid any attention to. Boba Fett is cool looking though.
|
it couldn't be any worse than the phantom menace
|
|
I have no problem with kids enjoying the new stuff. I got to see the special edition trilogy in the theater and became obsessed with Star Wars until around the time the Phantom Menace came out. But after that, it was no longer my place to say. It is for the kids.

George Lucas has to be one of the worst script writers of all time...
Not to mention he seems to havee gained some sort of hatred against good actors. (hayden? Jake Lloyd?) |
I remember watching the original trilogy on VHS recorded tapes in '89 religiously (a big chunk of the beginning of ESB was missing so I didn't see that part until we bought the retail tapes). I was about four or five years old. The thought of growing up to such a larger story blows my mind. The original trilogy was so clouded in mystery, like what the hell happened between ESB and ROTJ or what's the story behind Bob Fett? Since then, a lot of it has been explained so much that it is almost a different experience.
But if it is anything similar to my experience (the one in between the release and the prequels) then I say it is still worthwhile. But I still get the feeling that the more new movies are made, the less the new younger generation will be interested in the original trilogy and that just feels like youth marketing appropriating my past. |

Also it seems like they are trying to cram every story they can into the franchise which is pretty fucking retarded. As much as I look forward to this Force Unleashed game, the story is going to bug me like fuck.

Kegmama -it's cool for the young 'uns to go and see what George Lucas is doing now. On a strictly personal level, I loved George's work until he introduced the Ewoks in "Return Of The Jedi" - even as a 12-year old, I couldn't stand those Bears In Space. *pulls old man face*
On the plus side "THX-1138" and "American Graffiti" are really good films, and the original "Star Wars" alwasy will have a special place in my heart. |
never saw the appeal of star wars, certainly not the overblown, religion-like appeal.
all i know is that i'll never give george lucas my money. i don't remember if it was the episode one or two, but i fell asleep in one of those, i never sleep through movies no matter what. only that one did me in. |
Oh, I'm there.
