Ah, that sucks. I don't care what anyone says, they were a very enjoyable live act. I saw them a few times and they put on some of the best shows.

I never listened to this band. Jonas Stein played guitar with Awesome Color when I saw them open for Dinosaur Jr. I wasn't too impressed.

I got excited for a second there and thought this thread would be talking about the break-up of Magik Markers.

Y'know, me too, and I was going to say that, but every time I say the slightest bad thing about the Markers I get neg-rep and 3 or 4 PM's from Markers fans and their drummer telling me off in an email. So, I decided not to say anything bad about them anymore. It's not so much that I want to be censored or let people tell me what to say -- it's more so, no point in beating the dead horse.

Even if the horse does suck ASS.

The Markers absoutely DO suck.

So pissed, I was going to see them next week and they cancelled the show. At least I got to see them two years ago.

It says on here they were gonna play Warped tour but dropped out because they said that all those bands have only one sound and kids that come to the show are assholes in Rancid shirts that the lead singer of Be Your Own Pet made fun of in the lunch room at high school.

That's kinda funny but also almost the most retarded thing I've ever read. Be Your Own Pet are worse than almost any band that's ever played at the Warped tour, and they should have thanked their lucky fucking stars to ever have been even CONSIDERED to be included in something like that. They probably just didn't want to play because the singer was afraid she'd be groped by a tuff punker if she stage dived.

I read once that someone was making fun of the Markers on a blog (no it wasn't me) and said that the only reason Thurston likes the Markers is because Thurston slept with the singer, and I guess Thurston actually replied on the blog.

They're one of the few bands I was a bit hesitant to enjoy at first, because they have a real kid-like vibe, so I can see what you're saying. But they're a fun > talent band, and you can tell they don't really give a fuck. That attitude makes shows at small venues go off really well.
