Using Soulseek on campus
 

Has anyone ever had trouble using Soulseek on campus? I'm transferring to a new university this upcoming semester and I'm going to be living on campus for the first time. I'd really like to continue using Soulseek like I usually do at home, but I don't want to get in trouble or have my internet turned off or anything of that nature.

Yeah, after talking to a lot of people about this, that seems like it's my best bet. I can probably get my brother to download something off slsk for me, archive it, and send it if I can't blog it.

My school offers Ruckus (it's an iTunes-ish store offered free to a lot of colleges.) It has an alright selection and I'd have no problem using it if everything wasn't in .WMA, which is a completely useless format to me.

My Soulseek just won't work on 'campus', and I can't find any reason for it. Hmmm. Maybe a bandwith thing.

I love using my girlfriend's laptop on her campus. I download shit at like 500k/sec no problem.

i know at my university (nottingham, uk) almost all file sharing sites are blocked, i can kind of access soulseek though i don't seem to get many results (it might be to do with me using a mac though).

My searches tend to run a little weird on campus, but Slsk still runs fine. Torrents are blocked though and I couldn't be arsed to work my way around them. Not that it matters anymore as I'll be off campus in the fall.

I mean how can you convert shit into any digital format?
Do you need an iphone application for this? (like ishit for instance)
I'd only do it if i can get the smell right? If not it's useless.
