What's muxtape?
It was a website that allowed you to do an online mixtape. You could upload music, that's what bothered the RIAA I suppose
Oh.
There's also Art of the Mix (http://www.artofthemix.org/index.asp) where you can compile a list of songs for a tape, though I'm not sure of the mechanics of that one. I think people just advertise the CD or cassette mixes they've made and you can ask them for a copy or whatever. |

I was thinking about you when I read the name of this thread 'cause your muxtapes I enjoy a great deal, plus you mentioned having problems making mixes for uploading on this forum before. Oh well, the man always wins in the end. |
So the difference between muxtape and Art of the Mix is that the former is a direct uploading, while Art had members doing it at home and offering them up to share.
And this is different in the eyes of RIAA... how? |

Never fear... Opentape is here! http://opentape.fm/ |
yes!
That's exactly why RIAA and other legal shits will never be able to stop anything on the Int3rw3bz: as soon as something will be closed, dozens of other things with the same concept appear out of nowhere. This happened with Napster, it happens with Muxtape, it will happen with other things as well...
Same happened with OiNK as well, the RIAA should quit wasting the money.
I knew it wouldn't be long.
a very interesting explanation of the whole story of the MUXTAPE having to shut down. It's all detailed and written by its creator, Justin.. READ IT.
nobody read it.
