classic albums, atsonicpark edition # 41: john fahey - god, time, and casuality
![]() JOHN FAHEY "GOD TIME AND CAUSALITY" 1998, Shanachie I've talked about this on other threads but fuck it. If you were to ask me now what my favorite album of all time is, it's probably this. I don't even want to listen to the last song again -- it makes me cry. It's probably the only piece of music I've heard (maybe besides "Super Going" by Boredoms) that is SO good that it just makes me cry. It's cheesy, but I'm being serious. This CD has a lot of his best songs, re-done, so it's almost like a greatest hits record at times, except it's also got new songs that are better than anything he's ever done. The last 3 songs are all well over 10 minutes in length and they're all amazing. God, I dunno, I hate to gush, but you owe it to yourself to listen to this. If you never listen to me on another reccomendation, listen to this one. I think it's the one record everyone on this board would enjoy. I haven't listened to this one yet.
Downloading now. |
Purplebumblebee: You need a program called winrar, it extracts the rar into a folder with mp3's. Problem solved :)
|
I downloaded this album and I will listen to it soon.

Causality and casuality are very different things.
But a great CD. |
I really liked "Snowflake". I think with some modern twist and arrangments it would be a supremely baddass song.
|
Oh wow.
It IS causality. I can't spell/read. |
amazing album, but definatly not my favorite fahey (that honor goes to probaby transfiguration)
i am going to listen to this now |

I haven't heard any of his recent-ish stuff, but I do loves me some Transfiguration, Death Chants, Voice of the Turtle, Fare Forward Voyagers...ah, let's just say every Fahey album I've heard is golden.
I'll pick this up since it comes atsonicpark approved. :7) |

|
