She's a doll that's all I can say.

RdTv 06.02.2006 06:44 AM

Truncated. The name says it all (not really),anyways I think she's cool, I like her posts and she always seems to keep it interesting around here. She's one of those that I look for (stalk??) whenever I log on. It must be that devilish grin, or perhaps those sharp stalks of fire protruding from here head.

Hardly my friend, I bet there are a lot more but maybe too cool to admit it.

i don't understand why the artist would give arms and legs to the ruler but not to the rock! it's inconsistent, and illogical!

truncated 06.02.2006 08:18 AM

Many thanks, folks. You guys are just SUPER.

I would begin the shameless distribution of rep points, but my empty gray boxes just look like boogers, and nobody wants them.

It seems fairly obvious.

The ruler, being as thin as it is and, we can reasonably assume, anatomically oriented such that the ulterior portion of its anatomy correlates with the topmost lengthwise portion, would never be able to remain upright without some method of support. The rock, however, is fully capable of 'standing' on its own, and needs no legs for locomotion, as it can simply roll itself to its desired destination.

The rock does not possess arms because it developed a masturbatory compulsion as a pebble and caused all sorts of embarrassing ruckuses at social gatherings. A cruel but necessary preventative measure.

Sheesh.

Savage Clone 06.02.2006 08:39 AM

Truncated is a smug, verbose windbag know-it-all.

truncated 06.02.2006 08:58 AM

I'm sorry - was the advisory that "Those who collect secondhand wombs for decorative/demonstrative purposes are psychologically flawed, and therefore need not share their assuredly erroneous opinions" accidentally left out of this thread?

porkmarras 06.02.2006 09:02 AM

''Hmmmmm.....nice bum truncated.''

truncated 06.02.2006 09:41 AM

Why, thank you sir.

My, what hairy forearms you have! Nothing like a bit of insulation on those chilly days.

Preposterous, even a simpleton knows an upright position for a ruler is for it to "lie flat", and that ruler's "height" is no more than the few millimetres between its larger "top" and "under" sides. So not only is the diagram illogical, it is also anatomically incorrect!

Please observe these anatomically correct, scientific diagrams of an anthropmorphised ruler:

fig.1

fig.2

the height of a ruler is determined by the measurent of the side placed on the y axis in fig.2.

Cheers and long draughts for truncated. :)

Pfffffft. Maybe BRITISH rulers.

The horizontal orientation of the body of the ruler is far too impractical. An anthropomorphized ruler's function is not, like the inanimate ruler, to measure, but to mingle with other less fortunate species, pleasing aesthetically with its precise symmetry and prudent right angles and socially with its jocular charm and playful persona. These duties require convenient mobility, which would quite obviously be hindered by such extensive width as that of the above-referenced diagram. Doorways, corridors, narrow Italian alleyways, and basic household furniture would be impossible to utilize for the horizontal ruler. Therefore, to accomodate these expanded functions, the evolved ruler stands upright in the lengthwise vertical position as portrayed by the initial drawing.

bearing in mind that most rulers are no more than 30cms (12 inches) long, i think you'll find that your arguement holds no water!

How presumptuous of you to assume that the society of animated objects has created its community within the physical confines of our human one!

Do YOU see any rulers and rocks ambling casually along at your feet?

I didn't think so.

Do you know why this is? No? I'll tell you then.

In order to accomodate the needs of a significantly smaller species, in addition to avoiding the injuries that are an inherent risk in coexisting with a population of much larger and therefore unintentionally careless beings, our tiny friends have built themselves a dimensionally proportional living space directly beneath our topsoil. The construction is tailored to their relative sizes, and they are able to function efficiently and freely without the cumbersome burden of an intolerant and occasionally destructive group of coexisting creatures. Though many troublesome and inexplicable geological phenomena can be attributed to this underground network, it is generally minimally invasive to the upper world, and is often an asset within the farming community as it hydrates and aerates the land.

I understand that this is an oft-neglected subject of study in the regular curriculum. I am happy to help educate you in such matters.
