A Promise does it for me followed by The Air Force. Haven't heard knife play yet actually.

His voice works for the music perfectly... I'm not a huge Xiu Xiu fan and I think their albums all have some stinkers, but I gotta love how they mix musique concrete/modern classical/ambient/noise/electronica/pop/rock/etc into this really, really atmospheric, creepy, ridiculous and oftentimes beautiful cacaphony. The schtick is starting to wear a little thin, and I think that's why they keep adding new members... but I still find Xiu Xiu to be somewhat of a brilliant band, even in their shitty moments.

women as lovers is appaling.

i'm not too fond of the air force either.. can't believe someone voted for it.

"la Foret" is probably the most musical and beautiful thing they ever did, "fabolous muscles" is catchy and great and "knife play" is weird and noisy and kinda reminds of God is My Co Pilot and is the best.

The Air Force is great.

it's not bad, they just have better albums.

I love them all, and the singles, and the rarities, and the freakout noise blasts, fuck they are awesome.

how good are their collaborations with larsen?

The songs range from decent to unlistenable on the first collab. Never heard the second one.
