Better hurry up and buy a Digital TV!!

man they are going to make millions off digital tv sets when that thing happens. Even though it won't matter whatsoever. You'll still be able to plug a cable jack into your regular tv and get cable. I don't watch much tv but I'm so tired of hearing it

atsonicpark 10.26.2008 07:40 PM

Yeah, pretty sure almost everyone's known that for well over a year now. I don't watch tv but you can't really go into any store that sells electronics without seeing advertisements or signs that say that...

The government already sent a lot of people rebate checks and shit so they can get converter boxes and whatever.

they said it was going to happen in australia in 2k8 and it still hasn't and the year is nearly over.... maybe people don't give enough of a shit about tv here that noone is buying the digital tvs or a/d boxes

atsonicpark 10.26.2008 07:46 PM

TV is a joke anyway. Anything anyone would want to watch is on torrents, youtube, netflix, watch-movies, etc etc etc etc etc..

davenotdead 10.26.2008 07:53 PM

it doesn't matter if you have dish, right?

isn't it only for people without cable/dish?

atsonicpark 10.26.2008 07:53 PM

Pretty sure that's the story, yeah.

pantophobia 10.26.2008 07:56 PM

spent the morning running cable up from the basement into the attic to the other side of the house to connect a small tv in the kitchen that didn't have a cable connection, nearly couched up a lung with all the dust getting that shit done

so now this house is compliant, now if then can air more good programs about animals with no humans in site or myths being busted or stuff like that then maybe i would watch more

atsonicpark 10.26.2008 07:57 PM

At least mythbusters has that hot chick who got naked on one show I watched and it scared some goats.

pokkeherrie 10.26.2008 08:07 PM

Holland has switched to digital broadcasting a couple of years ago.
It doesn't make a difference unless you have analog antenna reception, but nobody has that these days. Not in such a small country anyway, I imagine that might be different in remote parts of the US.

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 10.26.2008 08:32 PM

yes, PBS has been telling me this 1996. they had been crying wolf so damned long, that when Digital TVs finally hit the stores it was a surprise again! I had been wondering what the hell this digital tv shit was for years and years!

Karrie got naked? When? lol, she was in a lycra suit in the 1st episode and she put on some weird halloween star wars leia type outfit in that episode where they painted her skin silver. I don't remember her ever being nude though. But that would be awesome because she is smoking.

atsonicpark 10.27.2008 06:12 AM

She got naked in the episode where they try to make those goats faint. She's completely naked except a big coat and then she opens the coat up to try to make the goats faint.

She is so hot.

no more analogue broadcasts over here in feb 09. no more unsightly aerials hanging off rooftops, no more peering at snow laden tv screens... no more channel 5...

its all good!

phoenix 10.27.2008 07:17 AM

are you still supposed to pay to have a tv in the UK?

yes you are supposed to have a tv licence.

PAULYBEE2656 10.27.2008 07:22 AM

i dont know about the uk but in ireland we have an annual tv licence if thats what you mean. and we dont have to but various cable and satellite companies have annual subscription.. at the moment my subscription to sky tv (with harddrive recorder) is 30 euro per month.... and that gives me 200-300 channels, everything apart from the major premium sports and movie channells... double that amount for them, i cant warrant paying in excess of 60 euro a month for tv.

atsonicpark 10.27.2008 07:22 AM

Too cute?
