it was raining, for the first time in over three months. The sunrise lit the sky with fire, it was mesmerizing. Awestruck, I turned around to face the west and was blessed with one of the most magnificent rainbows Los Angeles as ever seen. It was a psychedelic merge of color across the sky, perfectly defined. So to the east the fire of the dawn, illuminating the falling rain like a million drops of molten wax dripping from heaven, and to the west, a power bow of color breaking the stillness of the dark western horizon...

no, that was just a random picture of a rainbow for reference, this one was not bright and sunny, it was gloomy and the purple of dawn.
