I think his world is beyond communism or capitalism. Idealism?

I was never into Deep Space Nine--which, I believe, is the only place where latinum is used. At any rate, its not a earth based society. And I think that was kind of the point behind the Ferengi--showing how primitive they were compared to hu-maaans.

I'm guessing the Vulcans were post-money. Never heard of the Klingons being concerned with it. Don't recall a bar tab on Risa.
