I honestly do hear voices in my head when I'm resting. I think it's apart of the onset of sleep, though. Usually they are voices of people I know saying things I've heard them say before, or random people I heard through out the day.

Like Satan.

Bardo Pond

Like me with my voice running through a plate reverb unit.
|
Instrumental.
|
Billy Joel piano playing, and nothing else. Sometimes it's at deafening volumes.

Yes, I get that, too. It's usually after being in a public place, or watching too much television/movies on a boring day. An overactive mind, I think. |
In answer to the question... Usually myself, but I'm going to start paying attention to that. What an interesting concept!

This is probably the hypnagogic phase. Self-diagnosis is always a bad plan, but I seem to have exceptionally long hypnagogic phases. My head gets haunted by other people's voices. It was a Scottish lady recently, but at the moment it's that fella off channel 4 news. |
I suspect as much.
As though I need my mother's voice telling me to take out the trash in my dreams, as well. |
it rotates.....some days it sounds like weird al yankovic, other days it sounds like daniel stern ala Wonder Years, and then sometimes it sounds like chicken

Thanks for posting that link... that's an extensive article, but I'll probably read the whole thing. I experience paralysis, too, but sometimes it's good... |
