Does anyone know why UEFA moved the yearly Liverpool v Chelsea confrontation to the quarterfinals this year? Shouldn't they be meeting in the semis?

Anyway, I hope either Liverpool, Arsenal or Barcelona wins it.

We don't have winners and losers in England, it's all about the taking part.

Arsenal and Man U have definitely got the easier of the draws. Man U will cruise past Porto I reckon, but I do think Arsenal are gonna struggle whoever they face. They were incredibly lucky against Roma. I'd love to see them go all the way but I just can't see it.

Can see Liverpool v Chelsea going either way. It's definitely the game of the draw. I don't like Liverpool under Rafa at all but still prefer them over Chelski, so will be supporting Liverpool, albeit quite half-heartedly.

And I can see Barcelona just edging it past Bayern.

I'm predicting a Liverpool/Chelsea v Man U final.

And at 15/2 I'm seriously thinking about sticking a tenner on Liverpool lifting the trophy.

I think the final will be Liverpool vs Barcelona. For the first time since I've been a Liverpool supporter, it really does feel as if Liverpool could win (yes, they did win in 05, but it didn't really seem as if they would).

Man Utd's recent slip ups against Liverpool and today against Fulham suggest that all is not well at Old Trafford. This may just be a blip and it'd be stupid to ring the alarm bells just yet, but if Ronaldo and Rooney go into sulks in the quarters the way they did today at Fulham then anything could happen. A confident Man U could probably turn over anyone, but with their heads down they just seem to disintegrate - with every likelihood of a sending off here or there.

And as much as i still hate the way Liverpool are playing under Benitez, they seem to have the perfect temperament for the CL. So like D&tM, I'm slowly edging towards the idea of a Liverpool v Barcelona final.

Good result for us at the 'toon yesterday. I have a bet on with one of my more pessimistic Arsenal supporting mates that we'll finish 3rd or better this season.

On current form I think I might be a few quid richer at the end of the season :D
