Did Anybody Know James Franco Was Going to Play Allen Ginsberg?
|
I love James Franco, so that sounds pretty cool. I've never seen him give a poor performance, and he does have a good range.
|
Hopefully this movie isn't trash.
|
I'll be into seeing that. I had no idea it was even being made. Cool.
|
interesting cast
|
Is James Franco Jewish?
I hope this is decent.... I really do... Are they still making a movie of On the Road? I hope not... |

Sexy, yes.... I just loved Freaks and Geeks....
A man can be both sexy and Jewish. |
His mother is Jewish, apparently, according to wikipedia, so there you go.
|
Well, at least he's from the right country.
One of my pet peeves with movies is when American actors are casted for European roles.... |

He was great in Milk, but he's had enough varied non-homo roles too- I loved him in Pineapple Express too much to even explain. Without him that film would have probably been terrible. |
Ohhh, maybe I misread.... But, I think you edited you edit!!

Association with NAMBLA
Ginsberg also spoke out in defense of the freedom of expression of the North American Man/Boy Love Association (NAMBLA).[20] He defended his membership by stating: "Attacks on NAMBLA stink of politics, witchhunting for profit, humorlessness, vanity, anger and ignorance." In "Thoughts on NAMBLA", a 1994 essay published in the collection Deliberate Prose, Ginsberg stated, "I joined NAMBLA in defense of free speech." In the essay, he referred to NAMBLA "as a forum for reform of those laws on youthful sexuality which members deem oppressive, a discussion society not a sex club." Ginsberg expressed the opinion that the appreciation of youthful bodies and "the human form divine" has been a common theme throughout history, "from Rome's Vatican, to Florence's Uffizi galleries, to New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art". Essentially, Ginsberg felt that laws regarding the issue needed to be more openly discussed and that NAMBLA provided a "platform of debate."[21] |
