Alan Vega solo
Anyone else hear dig some of Vega's solo records? I've bee digging the shit out of them. Right now im listening to Jukebox Babe rcorded and released in 1980. I can't tell if its all electronics or if there is real instrumentation going on. There are guitar and bass sounds, but I feel they might be processed. Its extremely minimal synth-rockabilly but stripped of all the mur and nihilism of Suicide, and this upeat sound somehow makes it sound even more fucked than Suicide. Also love Saturn Stripes and even some of he stuff he put out in the 90s.

I really love Jukebox but haven't heard any others...

I almost bought Jukebox babe recently but it was a bit expensive so I bought something else. When I have the cash I'll probably check it out.

Actually I just realized what I have is a 2-album release that also has Collision Drive on it. That one's got a cool version of Ghost Rider. |
I love the album Saturn Strip. Glossy-sounding 80s dance-pop (the guy from The Cars produced it) with Vega's vocals pitched perfectly between celebrating and subverting its gaudiness, yelping about neon, street toughs and keeping your dreams. After Suicide S/T and Way Of Live, it's my favourite Sucide-related release.
