Anyone heard anything by Ufomammut? They're an Italian band, apparently a cross between Neurosis and Pink Floyd, with a bit of Loop thrown in for good measure. They've released three albums, and I'm wondering whether to buy the most recent, Lucifer Songs.

i wouldn't describe them as neurosis meets pink floyd. they are more stoner/doom metal than that. if you like electric wizard, then you'll like this band.

I saw them last night at The Fly in London. A very loud band in a very small room - excellent stuff. Bought the new(ish) CD, but haven't listened to it yet.

I've never heard any Electric Wizard. On the basis of this, maybe I should try.

oh, when i saw the thread title, for a second I hoped sonicl was back.
but i was wrong.

I saw them last thursday. They almost made me forget my sleep deprivation, flu symptoms and the 8 beers I had downed at that point.

Lots of hazy drones and crescendos and walls of sound, mainly from the Eve album, which I ended up buying. Great stuff.
I know nothing of guitar amplifiers but no wonder those stacks of green Electric amps are fetishized items.

I remember buying one, and being severely disappointed. The hype did not match the reality. They just seemed really fuckin lame. I dunno.....maybe I was expecting too much.

Cool - they're playing in Kingston-upon-Thames, about five miles from me.
