sy box set
Earlier this year, Beck and Sonic Youth released a split 7" for Record Store Day. SY covered Beck's "Beercan" and Beck had his way with Sonic Youth's "Green Light". It turns out this isn't going to be the last Sonic Youth cover we'll hear from Beck.
In a recent Pitchfork interview, Beck revealed that the "Green Light" cover will appear on a forthcoming and mysterious Sonic Youth box set, which will include Beck covering SY's entire classic 1986 album EVOL. On cassette. Yes, cassette. |

the beck cover seems so irrelevant. how about all the sonic outtakes/b-sides/archives/bootlegs from 30 or so years?

a 1500 discs box set?!? |
I'd imagine it'll be super limited since it's on cassette.
|
Maybe it'll cost $409,637,902,800.00 like the Pixies box set! In that case, I'll buy 2.

from the little bit of info that's slipped out, it sounds more like a box of shit related to SY. But not necessarily SY. Meaning, it's artists/friends' tribute to SY. (I think). |

That'd be neat. I've always wanted a box set that came with keys to a storage locker. |
