Roll Call: Knoxville July 10th and Nashville July 11th
I noticed that there have been no roll calls for this tour yet, so I'm making a joint one for these two shows.
I'll be at both (front row center for Knoxville and front row Thurston's side for Nashville) |
Haha !!
I'll be at the Nashville show ! I plan on getting there 2-3 hours early and just hanging out like I always do before any gig. Parking will be tricky if you want to go on the cheap and NOT PAY ! So I'm gonna make sure I score that deal. It's a Saturday so metered parking won't be active !!!! I know the secret stashes of spots. I'm gonna wear a white T shirt with a "Trademark of Quality" pig on the front and Empress Valley Supreme Disc (World Premier Label) on the sleeve. I was given this by the owner of Fisheads Int'l, a distributor of fantastic silver bootlegs in Japan. He happended to come to the states for a concert 3 years ago and we attended together. Cool guy ! SEEYA THERE ! |
You know I'll be @ The Bijou. Section R, Row C, Seat 22. I'm also bringing my ZOOM hand held recorder. ;-) BOOT!

Cool beans marleypumpkin, any way I good get a copy once you've converted everything? |
Of course my good man.

I will be at the Bijou Show in Knoxville. Front row, center of the stage. I'll probably get there 15-20 minutes before the opener starts. It's so weird going to a show that isn't General Admission.
|
The only other show I have seen there was Blonde Redhead 2 years ago, I was 4th row and there was only about 300 people or less there prompting Kazu to ask "If we were really fans" and if we'd heard of them. It was really weird, no one was standing and the band felt the lack of energy.
|
Yeh, sounds about like the Fennesz/Sparklehorse show I saw at the Bijou. At one point Mark Linkous peered out and said "Is anybody still here?" There were less than 200 people from what I could tell...and that's a pretty generous estimate. No one stood and there was barely any applause after songs.
SY is going to bring down the house though. I'm sure they will let people stand/come up to the front of the stage once they start playing. |
That Fennesz was part of that Big Ears bullshit. To hell with $200 tickets and most of the shows worth seeing are at the Pilot Light.
|
I'll be at the Nashville show, and hopefully early enough to get front and center like last year.
Oh, and here's a pic: ![]() |

I didn't buy a pass, I just bought a ticket that one show. They had tickets for sale for most of the individual shows (Fennesz solo, Phillip Glass, Antony and the Johnsons, etc.). The best seats were reserved for single-show ticket buyers. People with passes only got GA access to shows. I'll probably go to a few Big Ears shows next year if the lineup is decent. |
Yeah, I thought about buying a ticket for the Michael Gira show, but I too disgusted at the Big Ears thing by that point to care.
|
I'll be in Nashville this year. Hopefully as close to the front as possible. Driving from Indiana for this!
|
I'm going to the Knoxville show this year. Front row tickets baby!! :)
|
Ok, I'll be wearing this shirt:
Hope to see some of you there tomorrow in Knoxville. |
at both
|
Ok, it looks like we've got about 1/2 the front row sewn up.
|
Erm, hi! First post here. My girlfriend and I will be at the Knoxville show tomorrow night. Got front row via the presale, so there's two more accounted for.
I saw TV On The Radio there last year, and everyone (at least down front) stood for them and came up to the stage. Sadly they sat there looking bored as all hell during The Dirtbombs, who are actually pretty good. Gonna suck to be Entrance tomorrow night. |
