I got born again yesterday
 

Don't know if you've already heard about this ... there was a fatal disaster on the annual Pohoda festival, biggest summer music festival in Slovakia yesterday. the brief yet powerful windstorm caused the marquee tent to collapse and cover the people that were currently underneath the tent watching a band play. The metal construction holding the marquee together fell all apart and killed one young fella and injured about 50 people. I was there too, one of the huge metal poles fell about 1 meter from me and my friends. I'm glad I'm still alive.

I heard the festival boss made an announcement to cancel all the upcoming shows in the time range of 4pm to 6pm, just to make the storm pass by. the bad thing is that this announcement has been made after this concert had begun and the intention was to make them finish their set. i don't know, i'm just guessing.
anyway, it was brutal to crawl outside from the collapsed tent and watch people covered in blood lie on the ground, even before the ambulance cars came in to help.

Damn...I'm glad you're ok, but I'm sad about the bad news(obviously)...when something that bad happens in a place where people is just supposed to have fun and be happy it's even worse.

Sounds pretty much like what happened a couple years ago here in italy, no big tents involved but the 6 HUGE metal constuctions for the speakers collapsed during a 30 minutes windstorm at the biggest summer festival we have...30 injured, no deads just out of pure luck because people started searching for shelter under the big tents and other construction seconds before the towers went down...
