While "Mary" was foolish, she realized immediately that she fucked up. It's brave of her (even with the disguises) to go on national TV and admit she had a major brain fart.

On the other hand, that poor Korean woman was/is obviously suffering from some sort of BDD. Her story has been highly publicized in the past and she relentlessly had her face manipulated and butchered by others as well as her own hand. The fact that she's undoubtedly mentally ill makes the whole thing rather heartbreaking :(
