Who else is a fan?

I saw my first Ozu films this year, and they blew my mind.
Recently I've seen Lunch Box, and Frog Song, they're both pink films directed by this guy called Shinji Imaoka. Both really great and imaginative films, with a sweetness that I would never have expected from something aimed to titilate.

All the best films, in general, usually come from Japan (and Asia in general), especially in the past 10 years.

i need to see more but yes i am a fan. but still learning about it all.

tetsou is one of my favorite films of all time.

i am nowhere near as omnivorous or forgiving as mr. cooley but i do love some things here/there--- kurosawa being my saint patron. madame !@#$%! favors ozu.

i have this on DVD, i didn't enjoy it as much as i thought i would (i mean i love films where you've got a few japs sitting in a field and not saying anything) but i found it a bit long, i'll give it another go though.

Well, considering it is 4 hours long, I can see why you'd find it "a bit long", haha.

i just watched it again, i liked it a lot more this time, really good film.

yeah it's great.

I just watched ANGEL DUST, which is awesome.

i really need to get myself a multi-region DVD player, so many more japanese films get released in the US than in the UK

Most that I buy are region 0. Even ones that say they're not end up being region 0 somehow.

I'm not very familiar but I love Sundance's Asian Extreme selections. Great shocking stuff. I also like those Japanese mafia movies that one guy whose name escapes me makes so good.
