i don't normally like damien hirst's work, but a few years ago i saw a group show with a piece by him where he''d got zillions of flies stuck on to a canvas with tar, the canvas (about 4 or 5 feet wide, by 3 high) was about an inch deep in flies all over, it was really grotesque and fairly amazing
